SiSi, Speech to Sign Language, Translation System

What do you think a system that can make speech interpretation into sign language? Now, it seems could be real; IBM, is developing a new product named Say It Sign It (SiSi), this product or program uses voice recognition to translate spoken words into text and next translates the text into signs/gestures that are displayed on screen. The software is anticipated by spokespersons for the deaf community.

"This technology has the potential to make life easier for the deaf community by providing automatic signing for television broadcasts, and making radio news and talk shows available to a new audience over the Internet, or by providing automated voicemail transcription to allow them to make better use of the mobile network."
